Ouch Urgent Care in Hamilton, Alabama is excited to announce Kathy Richards, CRNP is joining our team as the New Clinic Consultant. Kathy has an impressive background, including working with Relias as an Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner at multiple practice locations in Alabama and Mississippi. She has 20 years of leadership and nursing experience which include serving as a flight nurse with CareFlight and prior Senior Director of Emergency Services in Tupelo, Mississippi. Kathy has a wealth of leadership experience, nursing experience and strives to provide excellent care as a Nurse Practitioner.

Kathy is proud to report “I am very excited about the opportunity to serve my hometown. Health care disparities affect all of us and the lack of access to high quality affordable care impacts our community. Through my experience as a provider and my years of leading change I am excited for the future for our community in healthcare. There will be more services coming soon to the clinic including onsite Xray equipment and more advanced point of care lab testing. Access to care will be growing through telehealth, online and extended hours. The future of medicine is to be able access healthcare from the touch of your phone. I am committed to providing positive patient experiences and high quality care”

Dr. Brian McCoy serves at the Medical Director for both Ouch Urgent care locations and welcomes Kathy’s leadership saying “I have worked with Kathy in the Emergency Department for years and think she will provide the operational leadership to take patient care in Hamilton to the next level.”

Beyond Kathy’s professional accomplishments, she graciously offered a peek into her personal life, expressing “I am very thankful the Grace and Mercy of my Lord and Savior. I am a mom first and foremost and very proud of my two daughters, Kayleigh and Meghan Terrell, my two bonus children Ali Melendez and Judd Young and two stepsons Graham and Eli Richards. I am happily married to the love of my life Ben Richards who serves as the Administrative Director of Emergency Medicine Services in Tupelo, Mississippi. We live in Hamilton with our 7 dogs, horses, cows and chickens. My husband says I am banned from getting anymore animals, but I love hatching our chickens!!
