Relias Healthcare is pleased to announce that in continuing its’ partnership with North Mississippi Health Services, began providing telehospitalist coverage for NMMC Pontotoc, located in Pontotoc, Mississippi in May. Since 2019 Relias and NMMC-Pontotoc have partnered together to provide emergency medicine services to the community. On May 31st, 2021, almost exactly two years later, Relias Healthcare began providing internal medicine services to the Pontotoc community.
“We are thrilled to be partnering with Pontotoc in Hospital Medicine. We believe the synergy between HM and EM provides an optimal experience for patients and families. We hope to contribute to the already excellent care that Pontotoc provides to patients,” said Dr. Sumner Abraham, Relias Healthcare’s Associate Chief Medical Officer.
As the need for efficient and quality healthcare rises in rural communities, Relias, a multi-solution healthcare company, has found a way to meet patients where they are by using advanced telehealth, HIPPA-compliant technology. “Relias is excited with the expansion of our telehealth footprint in the North Mississippi Health Services system. We look forward to building on the success of our EM program as we expand into hospitalist medicine at Pontotoc. Pontotoc will represent a unique patient care model in that it will leverage telehealth to provide virtual physician backup in both the EM and hospitalist environments. We believe this serves as a cost-effective model that will deliver the quality care the community has grown to expect from Relias over the last several years,” said Dr. Kiley Shafer, Relias Healthcare’s Corporate Medical Director: rhONE.
