Juli Forde Smith

Juli Forde Smith is a passionate advocate for those who deliver lifesaving care. Throughout her career, she has been involved in numerous initiatives to assist providers navigating the complex challenges of bad payer behavior, increased regulation, and unfunded mandates.

Juli’s career in reimbursement began more than twenty-five years ago as Practice Administrator for a large multi-site emergency physician group in North Texas. From there, Juli served as Senior Vice President of Operations for Nicka and Associates, a national coding organization. Previous roles include Director of Strategic Partnerships for ZOLL Data Systems and Chief Marketing Officer for Gryphon Healthcare.  Today, as the President of Rev4ward, Juli pairs coding, compliance and reimbursement expertise with innovative insights into emerging reimbursement models and post discharge care opportunities. In addition to leading Rev4ward, Juli is also Chief Revenue Officer for Relias Healthcare.

Juli’s has served on committees for the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP), the Emergency Department Practice Management Association (EDPMA), and the Urgent Care Association (UCA).  Past board service includes the Board of Governors for the Emergency Medicine Policy Institute and Board Partner for the Medicaid Health Plans of America.  She is currently both a board member and Vice Chair of EDPMA and is one of a select few non-physician members of ACEP’s Coding and Nomenclature Committee.

Juli is a nationally known speaker on coding and reimbursement issues. Her speaking engagements include ACEP’s Scientific Assembly, Becker’s, EDPMA’s Solution Summit, Fierce Healthcare, HBMA, HFMA, HIMSS, MGMA, MHPA and RBMA’s annual conferences and the National Association for Freestanding Emergency Centers annual conference among others. Throughout her career, Juli has educated hundreds of providers and healthcare leaders through speaking engagements, webinars, and personal coaching sessions. Juli is a proud graduate of the University of Texas and lives in Woodland Park Colorado. In addition to her professional endeavors, you will often find Juli horseback riding, kayaking, hiking, or outdoors listening to live music in colorful Colorado.
