Relias Healthcare’s very own Sumner Abraham, MD has recently been selected as part of the Ole Miss Alumni Association inaugural 40 Under 40 Class for 2022. The program celebrates the personal, professional, and philanthropic achievements of successful University of Mississippi graduates under the age of 40. Board of Advisors and Executive Team of Relias Healthcare announced today it has named David A. Hooker, MD as Associate Chief Medical Officer, Emergency Medicine. Dr. Hooker will transition into his new role immediately and oversee all emergency medicine functions in the South and Central Mississippi Markets.

“I am excited to add someone of David’s expertise and experience to our EM team,” said Dr. Joe Johnsey, Chief Medical Officer, Relias Healthcare. “David has years of clinical and administrative experience that he is bringing to his new role with Relias. About Sumner Abraham, MD: 

Abraham currently serves as Relias Healthcare’s Chief Medical Operating Officer. He joined Relias Healthcare in January of 2020. Abraham attended medical school at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in Jackson, MS, followed by an internal medicine residency at the University of Virginia. Following his training, he was selected to serve as Chief Resident for UVA’s Department of Medicine. In addition to being Relias Healthcare’s CMOO, Abraham is passionate about driving Relias Healthcare’s Quality Initiative (rhQI) and helping with the development of all Relias’ hospital medicine practices.

Abraham lives in Oxford, MS with his wife and two sons. When not serving and practicing medicine, he is an avid reader and runner.
